Path A Step 10: Web Access Code (WAC) or EFILE Number and Password

Our T2 software supports both NETFILE and EFILE submissions.

WAC

To request a WAC in the software, refer to Requesting WAC. If you already have a WAC and need to enter it, see Entering WAC.

Requesting WAC

To request codes within the software, version 2025.2 or higher must be used. A license key is not required to obtain your WAC.

If you are using a T2 version lower than 2025.2: If you attempt to request your WAC, you will receive error code 349. To resolve this, use the CRA's T2 WAC online generator to request your WAC. Once you have received it, see Entering WAC for instructions on how to enter it.

If this is your first time filing: You will not be able to request your WAC in the software. You must contact the CRA to request it.

  1. Open the return you want to submit.
  2. Go to page 1 of the T2 jacket.
  3. Ensure that line 001 (business number) is completed accurately.
  4. Ensure that line 061 (tax year-end) is completed accurately.
  5. Go to page 1 of the Corp Info worksheet.
  6. Enter the corporation's incorporation date.

  7. Complete the Notice of Assessment (NOA) section.

  8. Click WAC Code/Efile in the top toolbar.

  9. Complete the following fields:

    • First name of the WAC requester
    • Last name of the WAC requester
    • Title of the WAC requester
    • Postal code (mailing postal code of the corporation)

    Note: Click Help for WAC for more WAC help.

  10. Click Get WAC. Your WAC will appear in the textbox beside it.

  11. Click OK.

Entering WAC

  1. Open the return you want to submit.
  2. Click WAC Code/Efile in the top toolbar.

  3. Enter your WAC in the textbox beside Get WAC.

  4. Click OK.

Entering EFILE Number and Password

  1. Open the software.
  2. Click WAC Code/Efile in the top toolbar.

  3. Enter your EFILE number and password in the textboxes provided.

  4. Click OK.
